I lead design and product for Encore, Spotify's design system family, and AI prototyping tooling. My team works at the intersection of design infrastructure and AI β building the systems, tooling, and agent capabilities that raise the ceiling on design quality across Spotify's R&D org.
The largest tech worker sentiment survey of its kind found that manager effectiveness has a bigger impact on well-being than role, company size, or seniority, and that designers report the lowest confidence of any function right now. I take this seriously and it informs my leadership style. I invest heavily in my people, protect their focus, and help them go deep on specific high-leverage work rather than spreading thin across the hype cycle. I coach directly, surface contradictions early, and make sure my team has the clarity and cover they need to do work that actually moves things forward.
I believe AI has lowered the floor of what's possible, but it needs to raise the ceiling too. That's still the job of people with taste, craft, and judgment, and that's what my team brings.
